Kingston Educational Institute, an educational hub, imparting education in different field from KG to UG, has organized a wonderful Webinar on Ultrasonic Machining and it’s application on 16.12.2020 with Mr. Subrata Kumar Majumdar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology & Management as an eminent speaker and Prof.(Dr.) Ambarnath Banerji, Academic Chairman, KEI, Mr. Samir Kumar Bose, Lecturer, Dept. Mr. Majumdar perfectly covered almost everything about Ultrasonic Machining, parts, working, advantages, disadvantages and applications. Ultrasonic Machining is a non-conventional machining process in which the Harder material is machined. It consists of an electromechanical transducer connected to the AC supply. Velocity transformer which holds the tool firmly. The applications of Ultrasonic Machining are: Machining very precise and intricate shaped articles, Drilling the round holes of any shape, Grinding the brittle materials, Profiling the holes, Engraving, Trepaning and coining, Threading, Slicing and broaching hard materials, Machining the glasses, ceramics etc. So many questions came from students and faculties, Mr. Majumdar clarified all their doubts and made that event so valuable to all of us.Our honourable Secretary Mrs. Uma Bhattacharya, honourable President Mr. Tipam Bhattacharya, honourable Academic Advisor, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty deserve special mention for organizing and encouraging such events thereby making it a grand success.
